I Was Right About Louise Delos Reyes

I have always been skeptical about the huge push GMA handed to Louise Delos Reyes. From the start I've been firm and very vocal in my opinion that she's a hardsell as a leading lady, much more as the Network's top star.

After a not so successful youth oriented series on TV5, Louise returned to GMA as an impromptu onscreen partner to Elmo Magalona in Pilyang Kerubin, and later as one of the casts of Tween Hearts, but only for very short stint as she was immediately elevated to leadstar status to play the title role in Alakdana and since starred in several primetime dramas, including the drowned Kambal Sirena.

Fast forward today, GMA's Next Most Important Leading Lady has found herself suddenly below the level of importance. She'd been out of big projects for quite some time now and just doing forgettable guestings, she's even rendered invisible in the overcrowded Sunday AllStars that is also lowering its curtains soon.

It was said that Louise will be part of My Faithful Husband starring Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo. Obviously she's not the lead, which is perhaps an indication that GMA has finally gave up on her as a top star.

GMA eventually realizing what I did from the very beginning, that Louise is not much of a draw and she didn't become the top tier Lilybeth Rasonble wants to believe she is.

It would be easy to make Louise a lower tier talent and make her earn her stripes, like what it should've been in the first place. But the money and time they've invested to make Louise a big star just to ultimately fail will never be brought back.

There's a process in building up a star. You elevate a talent when she stoodout among her peers, not because officials like her or because her mother is putting gifts on the office desk.

In Louise's case, she was rushed to the top, sadly the only way to go now is down.
