Am I The Only One Who?: Thoughts On Dennis Trillo, Frencheska Farr, Sunday PinaSaya And More. . .

As I reflect to this past week on GMA I Wonder Am The Only One Who. . .

. . . thought Dennis Trillo proved that he is the best damn actor in the Philippines today with his Asian Star Prize Award in South Korea? There maybe other popular actors here--one says he's phenomenal, and another one who claims he has an undisputed number one primetime soap but its talent that eventually wins and Dennis won, internationally.

. . . believes Jennylyn Mercado should be the top choice to star in a movie with Korean actor Lee Min Ho? GMA7, APT Entertainment and S. Korean production Solaire signed a deal to do a joint venture, one of which is a film starring Korean superstar Lee Min Ho and a yet to be named Kapuso actress. And I believe it should be no other than Jennylyn Mercado--she's currently the only bonafide boxoffice movie actress of GMA. And GMA still owes her something after her My Love From The Star got shelved. . .

. . . (but) wont be surprise if Andrea Torres will be chosen instead of Jennylyn? Since Andrea is an APT talent and GMA have been building her up to be a major star for quite sometime now. And yeah APT/TAPE basically runs GMA Network's decision making nowadays.

. . . thinks Glaiza De Castro's sarcastic facial expressions in Encantadia are gold?

. . . not pleased with GMA Network greeting Frencheska Farr happy birthday via Twitter? Actually, I'm surprised that someone from GMA remembered Frencheska Farr, the last time I saw her was on a MARS episode more than two months ago. Frencheska is a talented singer/performer but GMA seemed to just dumped her, afterall that has been the fate of all GMA singers after the network phased out its musical variety show. Still, I cant help but to feel bad for Frencheska, she's now producing her own songs and music video and couldn't get any support from GMA Network and GMA Artist Center. I guess it would've been a happier birthday for her had GMA at least gave her something to do.

. . . find it odd for pornstar Maria Ozawa to make an appearance in Pepito Manaloto, a wholesome family friendly show?

. . . thought Jhake Vargas and Julie Anne San Jose's conversations about pregnancy in Pepito Manaloto were so nicely done it was hilariously cute?

. . . thinks Sunday Pinasaya should hire real TV gag writers and not comedy bar enthusiasts? The show is full of awful outdated jokes and appearance shaming jokes, which are bad comedy. Obviously the cast are trying to save the skits with their adlibs that aren't funny either.

Maging Sino Ka Man Failing In The Rating Race

GMA's new Primetime Teleserye Maging Sino Ka Man has not been so impressive in terms of ratings, it's just the third most-watched show on primetime in its debut week and not even the most-watched GMA primetime program, that honor goes to 24Oras while ABS-CBN's Batang Quiapo is now the undisputed number 1 weekday show after Voltes V legacy ended. What is even more alarming is that the ratings trend for MSKM is on a downward trajectory while Batang Quiapo is having a surge. MagingSinoKaMan's rating is just too low for its timeslot, it got bumped by Royal Blood and even by the afternoon show Abot Kamay Na Pangarap out of the top 3 daily programs. I Was Right About Louise Delos Reyes

I have always been skeptical about the huge push GMA handed to Louise Delos Reyes. From the start I've been firm and very vocal in my opinion that she's a hardsell as a leading lady, much more as the Network's top star. After a not so successful youth oriented series on TV5, Louise returned to GMA as an impromptu onscreen partner to Elmo Magalona in Pilyang Kerubin, and later as one of the casts of Tween Hearts, but only for very short stint as she was immediately elevated to leadstar status to play the title role in Alakdana and since starred in several primetime dramas, including the drowned Kambal Sirena. Fast forward today, GMA's Next Most Important Leading Lady has found herself suddenly below the level of importance.
