Sunday PinaSaya Will Just Bury Julie Anne Even Deeper

Here we go again.

Julie Anne San Jose is the human cannonball with her helmet strapped tight, her arms pressed to his sides, waiting inside a cannon that may never fire. GMA simply refuses to commit to elevating the talented singer.

Regardless of the masterful performances she delivers on stage or how vocal her supporters are, GMA and Sunday Pinasaya keeps her shackled at the bottom of the card. Rather than making her a key contributor, GMA's noontime show pegged her as a proverbial wallflower.

The show's anniversary special is the latest example of that mindset in action.

Julie appearing less than two minutes in every segments she's in is nothing short of an insult to her as an original member of its main cast and certainly a waste of time and effort of her supporters who went to the studio to see her perform live.

They could've had her sing in a good quality production number but instead it chose to have her cosplay in its Adarna skit where the Encantadia cast had more participation than her.

If that's not enough, the show invited AEGIS to sing in one skit spite having a resident one in Julie. Never mind that the said excruciatingly bad musical-comedy segment was a waste of airtime already, and AEGIS looked like mere background musicians. Isn't it a better idea to have Julie sing with the OPM band instead?

Overall, Julie spent most of the show in the dressing room taking pictures with her stylist as President Dugong along with his Star Buzz act went two segments too long and while the show turned itself into a Sunday edition of Eat Bulaga.

"Buried" would be the harshest word to describe Julie's current status on the show, but there's a pattern in Julie's depleting exposure that is worrisome. And one has to wonder just what message the show is trying to send regarding her or if there is something underhanded happening in its production. Of course lets not go there anymore.

They had removed her singing segment on the program and is now just singing whenever the writers feels like it. Her last musical production number was at a taped episode in August 21 which was the only one in that month, actually the fans were lucky if she's going to have at least one music prod in a month.

Sure the tired old argument could be made that its a comedy show but its still clear that the production made little to no effort in showcasing Julie and presenting her as one of GMA's key talents.

She can't nab any discernible role on the program or even stay in front of the camera longger than a few beats. SPS find ways to have the comedian Atak in every segment but never had time for a Julie song number that wouldn't even last five minutes.

Atak doesn't have a fan section in the audience printing his name on t-shirts or a 4' x 6' tarp with his face in sign of support of him. Atak being insulted on national tv is not entertaining tv. Julie's otherworldly music talents are.

And now that the number of its cast members expands, Julie will struggle even more to have any meaningful screentime on the show.

Julie is a talented performer and even a better worker, she takes everything given to her and does her very best to make it work without any complains. Her professionalism is the most admirable in today's industry. Pair that with her solid fanbase and its a no brainer that she's among the talent that should be a marquee attraction.

Julie needs a real platform with other talented music artists where she can showcase her skills and widen her fanbase.

That continues not to happen though. definitely not in a show like Sunday Pinasaya that wants us to forget how talented she is.

Beat it into the people's mind enough that someone is just isn't good enough and insignificant by how you present her, and eventually the audience will start to believe it.

Thats where Julie is heading as Sunday Pinasaya buries her even deeper on its second year throughout.
