Dear GMA Network Please Give Julie Anne San Jose A Musical Vareity Show
Julie Anne San Jose was one of the performers at the Globe And Disney's I Dare To Dream Concert last Wednesday, and wowed everyone with her performance of Moana's theme song How Far I'll Go, which according to the audience and expectators was one or if not the most applauded performance of the night. Infact there were alot of positive feedbacks about the performance saying that it was indeed the best part of the show.
And perhaps none could validate that further than her co-performers such as the Mega Daughter KC Conception and Julie's long time idol and inspiration Broadway legend Lea Salonga who both posted praises on her performance.
Proving once again that she belongs to that echelon of top music performers in the country, and yet once again capturing momentum on a single night. Its either GMA use that momentum or sadly- just kill it like they did when they twisted out their news and make it appeared like it never happened.
However, Im still hoping that her stellar performance that night convinced the powers that be that Julie Anne San Jose deserve a musical variety show, a program that will showcase her as a great performer that she is. The less than 5 minute screen time on the tiresome Sunday Pinasaya is just not enough.
The problem is that everytime Julie take a step forward GMA immediately follows it with two steps backward. They have the luxury to build her up when she earned their trust to tear her down when she lost it.
GMA Records were never committed in promoting her music, it has not released a new single yet and stopped her album tours. GMA also failed to make her series look strong, and instead of promoting it they even spread rumors that it will be cut short.
One has to wonder if this is what she re-signed for last year.
If Julie jumped ship we could've at least seeing her performing with Garry Valenciano and Lea Salonga who proudly believes in her talent. She would've been dressed like a Disney princess every Sunday and not a fury feline in a terribly written fable. She could've been in a management who knows how to make stars or at least know what they are doing.
Julie needs a clear career path, she needs to go somewhere, rather going around in circles and ending up nowhere.
