Sunday Pinasaya Continues To Marginalize Julie Anne San Jose

Sunday Pinasaya is making itself clear of what it thinks of Julie Anne San Jose.

Julie remains to be one of the key talents of the Kapuso Network. She's the frontrunner of GMA's very thin roster of true singers but Sunday Pinasaya does not believe in her to be a top tier star on the show.

She's an A-level performer treated as a B-level talent. Fans saw more evidence of that the past weeks as the show failed or just refused to make her important.

Just this last Sunday, Julie had the shortest screentime of all the cast members. Julie briefly appeared in the opening that also featured all of the cast. I dont know about their creatives but I wouldn't count that to her as major segment, as everyone is obligued to be there anyway.

It also took almost half way through the show before Julie to finally be seen again as a wedding singer in a skit that regularly features Marian Rivera, AiAi Delas Alas, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and Miguel Tanfelix who at that time already appeared in their third and fourth segment. Her involvement in the skit also doesn't make sense (not that the show made any sense ever) as she was never really a part of it and was obviously just being placed there for the sake of giving her a screentime because the show doesn't have any other thing for her to do, making it seem that she's just a guest star on the show. I am willing to overlook all of that as long as her role is noteworthy and for as long as she is singing, but that wasn't the case either. Julie's role of who was to be cut off every time she would sing was a complete time wasting of an appearance. If they want to make Julie sing why not just make her sing minus the stooge. The guest singer in the Coach Cynthia segment had a more decent singing spot by the way, so what am I missing here?

Julie' s next appearance would be the Resbakers skit which was taped to still give Barbie Forteza who was absent from the show a screentime, and lets not forget Resbakers skit is basically Barbie Forteza's segment.

Overall, minus the allstar cast opening and the taped Resbakers Julie only had one live appearance on the show while rest of the cast have either three to four or even five segments. That's something I dont expect for Julie who is an original mainstay of the show. Further, this was not the only time she was held down by the people behind the show. Two weeks ago she also only appeared in the opening and in the Long Table skit where she was given very few lines and to make it worse she also served as a back up dancer to Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix.

And Speaking of BiGuel the two always have the most number of segments on the show and even have a regular dance segment in spite of just being months old on the show. As for Julie, her supposed musical segment became sporadic to non existence, the last time she had a singing prod was during her very late birthday celebration, and even that required an uproar from the fans to happened.

Fans often speak about how underrated Julie is but does anybody noticed just how she's being marginalized on the show? One may argue that she's still seen daily in My Guitar Princess and her fewer appearances on SPS is for not to overexpose her, but I dont see that in the case of Miguel Tanfelix, Bianca Umali and Alden Richards who also have daily shows but still being overexposed by SPS creatives.

Fans and pundits believe Julie's popularity had ever since dropped if not already diminished, and some even points out to her more mature image as the main reason but more than any other, the blame should be on bad decisions and mismanagement of GMA. As it forgotten how Julie got over with her fans in the first place. Its her singing and her top class performances in SOP and Party Pilipinas that thrilled her fans, that's what have been missing now. Its no wonder most of her fans turned on Sunday Pinasaya as it failed to not only showcase her talents but failed to even give her a decent screentime.

In my hopes that the powers that be in GMA and GMA Artists Center come to address and fix the anomaly otherwise soon the more fitting theme song of Julie's career would be Nothing Left.
