Julie Anne San Jose's 2021 Off To A Bad Start?

It's not a great start of the year for Julie Anne San Jose and her supporters, at least in GMA. In case you're not paying attention she's been an afterthought in the last two programs namely GMA New Year Countdown and in her own show AllOutSundays that should've presented her as the top singer of the network. You would be hard pressed to know that because she has not had a single moment that was actually about her.

She only appeared in the opening number of The New Year Countdown that was more about introducing The Clash graduates as the new breed of singers, after that she's been already out of sight throughout the program. She didn't have a solo number. She never had a chance to hold the mic to even say welcome to the New Year as the emcee job was also given to Gabbi Garcia and Kyline Alcantara who also flooded the musical numbers. Yes she did sang a song formerly done by Regine Velasquez, at least the first stanza but rest of it was an all cast prod already that barely had her on the screen for two minutes, not to mention the spotlight was already taken away from her from the start by Alden Richards and his scripted prayer. After all the entire show was all about Alden's 2019, 2020 and 2021 than anything else.

That continued this week in AllOutSundays as again she only appeared in the all cast opening number except for some sporadic spiels that merely to do introduction for production numbers she'd rather be performing in. No solo prod, no For The Win, no anything to actually feature her as the lead singer of the program, that honor was once again given to Alden Richards, Rayver Cruz, Gabbi Garcia, and Kyline Alcantara in what it seems just episode 2 of the GMA New Year Countdown.

Julie ended 2020 on a high note, successfuly hosting a The Clash, being chosen by Netflix to sing their song, even winning Aliw Awards Entertainer Of The Year but for whatever reason AllOutSundays and the rest of GMA's crack creative staff has no problem forcing to her to the background in favor of their favorite acts.

Maging Sino Ka Man Failing In The Rating Race

GMA's new Primetime Teleserye Maging Sino Ka Man has not been so impressive in terms of ratings, it's just the third most-watched show on primetime in its debut week and not even the most-watched GMA primetime program, that honor goes to 24Oras while ABS-CBN's Batang Quiapo is now the undisputed number 1 weekday show after Voltes V legacy ended. What is even more alarming is that the ratings trend for MSKM is on a downward trajectory while Batang Quiapo is having a surge. MagingSinoKaMan's rating is just too low for its timeslot, it got bumped by Royal Blood and even by the afternoon show Abot Kamay Na Pangarap out of the top 3 daily programs. I Was Right About Louise Delos Reyes

I have always been skeptical about the huge push GMA handed to Louise Delos Reyes. From the start I've been firm and very vocal in my opinion that she's a hardsell as a leading lady, much more as the Network's top star. After a not so successful youth oriented series on TV5, Louise returned to GMA as an impromptu onscreen partner to Elmo Magalona in Pilyang Kerubin, and later as one of the casts of Tween Hearts, but only for very short stint as she was immediately elevated to leadstar status to play the title role in Alakdana and since starred in several primetime dramas, including the drowned Kambal Sirena.
