GMA Has Held Julie Anne Back
After the conclusion of Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa which ended as a top rater, Julie Anne San Jose has not had much direction. So Is GMA holding her back or is there a long term plan in place we are yet to see?
GMA found a way to showcase Meg Imperial, pave their way to put a new commer Arra San Agustin in an important role and put a bunch of male models known to none on primetime but did next to nothing for Julie.
After her soap it would've make sense for her to go back promoting her album, releasing new songs and doing music videos but thats not that case. Aside from some singing engagements she's currently running without any clear path.
Her co-stars in PKLSL immediately got big projects, LJ Reyes never left their afternoon slot, Martin Del Rosario was slid into Mulawin and her leading man Benjamin Alves will be the third wheel of Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez. There's nothing placed for Julie.
She's not even that very visible on GMA programing. She's not promoting a new song on Unang Hirit neither she's scheduled for an episode of Dear Uge.
The quiet way things unfolded for Julie is somewhat symbolic of her place in GMA roster, she's just clearly not one of the priorities. Sanya Lopez already started taping for her first lead role just days after Encantadia ended, Gabbi Garcia will be in the push of her lifetime with a movie with Alden Richards even Janine Gutierrez's new project is already in works to think her soap is still airing
There's really nothing much we heard for what in store for Julie. And now only few believes about her said music projects as during the Q&A of her Playlist Live on Facebook last month not even she could give an affirmative answer about GMA's plan for her.
The good news is she's still part of Sunday Pinasaya, the bad news is based on the way she's being presented it appears that she's just in threading water on the program. That has been the norm for Julie and its recent episode was no exception. Julie appeared on the show for just more than a minute, the closing regards included.
Her role on the show is not as prominent as with the guys in its BoysRoom skit or as with Pekto in every segment he's in. There's not much enough airtime to showcase Julie.
Of course all of this is an anomaly, Julie is a talented artist with a pack of achievements in such a young age. She can do everything she's asked to do and do it great. She's a top notch performer of GMA and their only singer fans still invested in to spite how terrible she's been mismanaged
Well, its been almost a year since she re-signed with GMA but it felt like it was a decade already and not in a good way. What the fans who then suggested her to take her talents elsewhere worried about has basically come to be. And imagine how much more she and her fans has to endure within the next two years unless GMA change this dynamic.
Right now might not be her time on the spotlight, well maybe thats fine, there could only be so much space on center stage at a given time.
Moving forward though, GMA must carve out a higher spot for Julie.
