Am I The Only One Who? :Thoughts On Encantadia, Annette Gozon Abrogar, Julie Anne Sa Jose, Alyas Robin Hood And More. . .

As I reflect to this past week on GMA I wonder Am I The Only One Who. . .

. . . thinks Annette Gozon Abrogar (picture above) sent a clear wrong message to the rest of GMA roster with her statement "Aldub Teleserye Is Our Priority"? Thats explains away why most GMA artists are in floating status, GMA primetime is currently full of Koreanovelas and why Jennylyn Mercado's teleserye got cancelled. If thats so then why not just rename the station Aldub Network? GMA Films' president should've just said its one of their priorities or better the viewers is her network's priority, and last time I've checked they want to see more than just aldub.

. . . thinks GMA is just fine and even very happy with the controversy over Alyas Robin Hood? The internet erupted over a fan made poster of Dingdong Dantes' upcoming GMA show as it's hugely resembles that of American series Arrow. The irate netizens were quick to judge GMA of being a copycat and lacks originality, even Arrow himself Stephen Amel got curiously confused as he tweeted about the show. GMA drama head had already defended their new show and denied that its a rip-off of Arrow. However I do believe she has a huge smile in her face writing her long statement,-- afterall this all works in their favor as the show gets huge publicity, you dont get a hollywood star tweeting about your show everyday. The show's trailer getting over a million views on YouTube in just 3 days is a huge proof of how much attention it has recieved

. . . wonder if the people who compares Alyas Robin Hood to Arrow even knew that Stephen Amel's series was adapted from DC's Green Arrow which is obviously a rip-off of the Robin Hood character?

. . . thought Amihan in Encantadia did show a sign of an inept and indiscisive leader when she was goaded by Lira into making Danaya face the council's trial even though her heir to the throne has been labeled as inept and incompetent by that same council?

. . . thought Aquil who was supposed to be the strongest knight of Lireo looked weak and stupid for getting knocked out by an unidentified crook with a cheap shot?

. . . got confused as to how and why sheeps exists in Encantadia? How they call that pashnea?

. . . thinks Gabbi Garcia did a great job with her recent fight scene in Encantadia? Dont know if she used a stunt double but that's certainly miles better than her past fight scenes.

. . . was conflicted about Superstar Duets?

. . . thinks Julie Anne San Jose and Jhake Vargas a.k.a. ChiNikki of Pepito Manaloto is still one of best loveteams in GMA? I know Julie is soon to be paired with her rumored boyfriend Benjamin Alves but so far Michael V. and rest of the people writing the show has done a great job in making ChiNikki as a believable couple.

. . . fear that Julie Anne San Jose will just be sidetracked by LJ Reyes in the TV remake of Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa? Of course that has become the norm of her past acting projects wherein GMA billed her as the leadrole but in factual basis the story never trully revolved around her character. She's merely 25% of Just One Summer, Kristoffer Martin was built up heavily on Kahit Nasaan Ka Man and Kylie Padilla and (goodness sake in 21st century) Sheryl Cruz hogged the spotlight in Buena Familia. And having seen the original movie there are huge chances that this is another disappointment for Julie's fans aside from the fact that LJ Reyes and their director Gina Alajar are from the same talent management. Julie continuously working hard and has paid her dues, its time for GMA to give her the real spotlight.

. . . thought Sunday Pinasaya's anniversary special was a let down? Its pretty much the same as their regular episodes with corny segments with overexposed casts being overexposed.

Maging Sino Ka Man Failing In The Rating Race

GMA's new Primetime Teleserye Maging Sino Ka Man has not been so impressive in terms of ratings, it's just the third most-watched show on primetime in its debut week and not even the most-watched GMA primetime program, that honor goes to 24Oras while ABS-CBN's Batang Quiapo is now the undisputed number 1 weekday show after Voltes V legacy ended. What is even more alarming is that the ratings trend for MSKM is on a downward trajectory while Batang Quiapo is having a surge. MagingSinoKaMan's rating is just too low for its timeslot, it got bumped by Royal Blood and even by the afternoon show Abot Kamay Na Pangarap out of the top 3 daily programs. While some may say that it's still in the top 5 programs this is still disappointing considering its stars Barbie Forteza and David Licauco were fresh out of the successful Maria Clara at Ibarra and were highly touted for the show's success and were named the breakout loveteam. I Was Right About Louise Delos Reyes

I have always been skeptical about the huge push GMA handed to Louise Delos Reyes. From the start I've been firm and very vocal in my opinion that she's a hardsell as a leading lady, much more as the Network's top star. After a not so successful youth oriented series on TV5, Louise returned to GMA as an impromptu onscreen partner to Elmo Magalona in Pilyang Kerubin, and later as one of the casts of Tween Hearts, but only for very short stint as she was immediately elevated to leadstar status to play the title role in Alakdana and since starred in several primetime dramas, including the drowned Kambal Sirena. Fast forward today, GMA's Next Most Important Leading Lady has found herself suddenly below the level of importance.
