Am I The Only One Who? : Thoughts About Jennylyn Mercado, Julie Anne San Jose, Sunday PinaSaya, And More. . .

As I reflect to this past week on GMA, I wonder Am I The Only One Who. . .

. . . wonder what's taking too long for GMA Network to make Jennylyn Mercado sign a new contract? Her contract expired last May and the negotiations between the two camp is still muddy,-- rumors says the singer-actress has a huge offer from ABS-CBN but still waiting for GMA to make a counter. I dont know what's "Huge" means, could be in terms of projects or pay, yet its dumb for GMA to let go of Jennylyn as she's the biggest star they have right now. I believe GMA is capable of making the counter offer and Jennylyn deserves that, considering how successful she is today and how loyal she's been to GMA.

. . . realized Jennylyn Mercado toured every major film company for the past couple of years to make box-office movies while GMA Films never produced one for her?

. . .would bet the powers that be in GMA even knew they have a talent named Terri Malvar before it won an international acting award? But Seriously, who is Terri Malvar?

. . . had a hard time keeping up with this week's episode of Pepito Manaloto because of the great Volleyball game between two allstar teams BaliPure and PocariSweat? I am conflicted what to watch as I am to what team to root for since Im a fan of both Alyssa Valdez and Michele Gumabao.

. . . thought Ken Chan had a better performance than Jake Vargas and deserves his win in their LipSync Battle PH clash but finds Jake as Ariana Grande prettier than Destiny Rose?

. . . thought the closest resemblance Jake Vargas had from Ariana Grande was his height?

. . . finds the ad placements on GMA programs more annoying than their actual commercials?

. . . thinks MYX Philippines pays more importance and respect and to Julie Anne San Jose than GMA Network? MYX which is an ABS-CBN brand, made a better article regarding Julie's music video shoot of her single Naririnig Mo Ba? on their website, -- and wait there's more! . . . They actually had exclusive BTS photos,-- and if you still cant get enough of that, they actually have an exclusive interview where Julie explained everything about her song and upcoming music video and had a chance to promote her new album. As for GMA, they had a less than half a minute non-substancial Chika Minute interview and posted photos of the shoot taken from somebody else's Instagram account. I know MYX is a music channel and they have more expertise with the department, but that is not an excuse for GMA to make less effort.

. . . thinks the BoxSing segment of Sunday Pinasaya is more boring and less entertaining than SundayAllStars' Lip Sing It?

. . . figured out that Sunday Pinasaya only brought Julie Anne San Jose's musical segment back just to feature and build up Kim Last? Eat Bulaga's Thats My Bae was part of Julie's last two musical prods and they're seemed being build up as the show's resident loveteam but Julie's fans didn't picked it up, now it looks like the idea got nixed already, and so as Julie's singing prods. To rub salt to the wound Kim has now more airtime and higher level of importance on the show than Julie who is the original main cast. Now you do the math.

Maging Sino Ka Man Failing In The Rating Race

GMA's new Primetime Teleserye Maging Sino Ka Man has not been so impressive in terms of ratings, it's just the third most-watched show on primetime in its debut week and not even the most-watched GMA primetime program, that honor goes to 24Oras while ABS-CBN's Batang Quiapo is now the undisputed number 1 weekday show after Voltes V legacy ended. What is even more alarming is that the ratings trend for MSKM is on a downward trajectory while Batang Quiapo is having a surge. MagingSinoKaMan's rating is just too low for its timeslot, it got bumped by Royal Blood and even by the afternoon show Abot Kamay Na Pangarap out of the top 3 daily programs. I Was Right About Louise Delos Reyes

I have always been skeptical about the huge push GMA handed to Louise Delos Reyes. From the start I've been firm and very vocal in my opinion that she's a hardsell as a leading lady, much more as the Network's top star. After a not so successful youth oriented series on TV5, Louise returned to GMA as an impromptu onscreen partner to Elmo Magalona in Pilyang Kerubin, and later as one of the casts of Tween Hearts, but only for very short stint as she was immediately elevated to leadstar status to play the title role in Alakdana and since starred in several primetime dramas, including the drowned Kambal Sirena. Fast forward today, GMA's Next Most Important Leading Lady has found herself suddenly below the level of importance.
