Am I The Only One?: Thoughts On Julie Anne San Jose, Ryza Cenon, WoWoWIn And More



As I reflect to the happenings on GMA this past week I Wonder Am I The Only One Who...

. . . thinks both DenLie (if that's what they call it) and AlDub fans has overreacted over Alden Richards and Julie Anne San Jose? The two will be together in one show but that does not necessarily mean they are going to be a loveteam.

. . . knew it from the start that Ryza Cenon is a bestfriend character in Buena Familia, like when was the last time you've seen her not? But you have to give it to her as since becoming the second ever Starstruck female survivor she never had a taste of a big break, yet you never heard any sour grapes from her unlike Sarah Lahbati, Aljur Abrenica and Steven Silva. Well, It seems she has given up already that she will ever become bigger at this point anyway and just decided to enjoy cashing checks which of course better than none.

. . . finds Jaya's audition for Your Face Sounds Familiar tasteless and unprofessional? The Queen of Soul who accepted the role of Corazon for the upcomming MariMar remake pursued ABS-CBN's reality show despite being warned by GMA officials not to. In the end she failed to make it and came running back to the only network that have given her alot of opportunities for so many years. She should be thankful for still having a door opened for her.

. . . thinks GMA should just give up on Willie Revillame and WoWoWin? Its a no win situation for both right now, Willie's pop culture phenomenon already died several years ago, and wounds were self inflicted.

. . . shakes off bitter remarks on Julie Anne San Jose? Its not Julie Anne's problem that there are idiot people who don't like her yet likes to keep themselves updated about her. Afterall they have all the reasons to be bitter as Julie was on a roll this past week. Buena Familia started, she's the new brand ambassador for Converse Ph. and just recently went to China for a product launch, And she's the cover girl of Preview Magazine for this month, the magazine even produced her a music video. And Haters will even have more reasons to be bitter as she has a new music video with Christian Bautista, will be part of a new Sunday variety show, going to New York next month for a GMA PinoyTV show, and launching the second single for her soon to be release U.S. EP. They can say whatever they want or compare her to whomever they want but they'll never be able to lace up her Chuck Taylor's.

Maging Sino Ka Man Failing In The Rating Race

GMA's new Primetime Teleserye Maging Sino Ka Man has not been so impressive in terms of ratings, it's just the third most-watched show on primetime in its debut week and not even the most-watched GMA primetime program, that honor goes to 24Oras while ABS-CBN's Batang Quiapo is now the undisputed number 1 weekday show after Voltes V legacy ended. What is even more alarming is that the ratings trend for MSKM is on a downward trajectory while Batang Quiapo is having a surge. MagingSinoKaMan's rating is just too low for its timeslot, it got bumped by Royal Blood and even by the afternoon show Abot Kamay Na Pangarap out of the top 3 daily programs. While some may say that it's still in the top 5 programs this is still disappointing considering its stars Barbie Forteza and David Licauco were fresh out of the successful Maria Clara at Ibarra and were highly touted for the show's success and were named the breakout loveteam. I Was Right About Louise Delos Reyes

I have always been skeptical about the huge push GMA handed to Louise Delos Reyes. From the start I've been firm and very vocal in my opinion that she's a hardsell as a leading lady, much more as the Network's top star. After a not so successful youth oriented series on TV5, Louise returned to GMA as an impromptu onscreen partner to Elmo Magalona in Pilyang Kerubin, and later as one of the casts of Tween Hearts, but only for very short stint as she was immediately elevated to leadstar status to play the title role in Alakdana and since starred in several primetime dramas, including the drowned Kambal Sirena. Fast forward today, GMA's Next Most Important Leading Lady has found herself suddenly below the level of importance.
