Am I The Only One Who?: Thoughts On Encantadia, Julie Anne San Jose, And More. . .

As I reflect to this past week on GMA, I wonder Am I The Only One Who...

. . . wished we've seen more of Julie Anne San Jose as Chikaminute anchor? Julie took Iya Villania's (who is in matternity leave) place last Tuesday and I hope to see more of her on the news program. That's the least GMA can do for her since Sunday Pinasaya is very keen on burying her with a very little screentime.

. . . finds mentioning Kalachuchi and Petchay on Encantadia stupid? In the scene where Wantuk (played by Buboy Villar) refered to a villain plant humanoid as a human Kalachuchi and a walking petchay-- my reaction was "Wow" I dont even know a plant like Kalachuchi and a vegetable Petchay exist in the realm of Encantadia, if they do then what a coincidence that it were named the same. During the original run of the telefantasya there was a storyline where Alena used the Brilyante Ng Tubig to save her life by turning herself into a water plant, the plant was unknown to everyone even to Danaya who has the knowledge of every plants and animals in Encantadia, the plant happened to be a Water Lily and only Lira have able to identify it since she grew up in the human world, that was good story telling unlike the nonsensical Petchay and Kalachuchi. I know it was done to make the audience laugh but it failed miserably and the only thing it did was make the scriptwriter look stupid.

. . . finds it inept for Amihan to call a Mulawin who asked the wind to take him to Ybarro? Couldn't Amihan who commands the wind in Encantadia do same to find Ybarro by herself?

. . . thinks Pagaspas' appearance on Encantadia could've been made more compelling? In retrospect Pagaspas-- a mulawin played by Miguel Tanfelix just came, fly, then go away.

. . . finds Mira the fake Sang'gre Lira is more attractive than the real one?

. . . thinks Gabbi Garcia is more suitable to play Lira? The original Lira was played by Jennylyn Mercado who's at that time was the most popular teen actress of GMA. No offense to the new Lira but I find it a downgrade for the character to be played by someone I can't even recall the name. Of course Gabbi is also not as popular as Jennylyn but at least we've seen her in some top projects before and she's the one being presented as GMA's top teen actress, she could've thrive doing the role and given it more credibility. Plus I find her too young to play the mature role of Alena.

. . . thought Ybarro's father Armeo is very stupid for not using the almighty Kalasag armor during their battle against Hathoria? Seriously, that could've saved his life and prevented the fall of Sapiro. In the original Encantadia Kalasag was created by two Etherians Banak and Nakba for Raquim the strongest Sapiryan warrior.

. . . thinks Pepito Manaloto has done a great job of preserving Jake Vargas and Julie Anne San Jose's chemistry on the show spite the turn of events in Julie's real lovelife?

. . . slept on Lipsync BattlePh for the second straight time?

. . . is rather hopeful than excited about the speculated re-singing of Julie Anne San Jose with GMA Network? GMA have been posting the hashtag #JAPSRightWhereYouBelong on their social media and teasing an announcement this coming Monday. If my guess is right this all points to her re-signing with her current network. I know most of her fans weren't too happy about it and I cant blame them.-- TAPE Inc.'s Sunday Pinasaya continues to bury her with little exposure on the show and preventing her from showcasing her musical talents. Certainly, everyone would rather see her on ASAP concert stage where worldclass singers like her truly belongs. I might be in the minority, but I still prefer seeing her as a Kapuso. If ever Julie is really signing a new contract with GMA I hope she'll be treated for what she's worth this time around and be given a real platform where she can showcase her talents as a legit music artists.
