Am I The Only One Who? :Thoughts On Encantadia, Lipsync BattlePH, Julie Anne San Jose, And More. . .

As I reflect to this past week on GMA I Wonder Am I The Only One Who. . .

. . . is not high on the rumored new musical-comedy show of GMA? If GMA truly wants something for their underutilized singers then just do a straight up musical show, plus with the exception of Michael V.'s brainchilds GMA sucks at comedy (ehem! Laugh, Camera, Action, and Vic Sotto's Hay Bahay). Besides wasn't SundayAllStars already a musical-comedy show before it folded? The only good thing I see about this is we can now get rid of the blocktimer Sunday Pinasaya that buries GMA talents.

. . . totally enjoyed Julie Anne San Jose's stint as MARS guest host? Julie was very lively, and really delivered well. Im hoping to see her in more hosting job like such. A wishful thinking .

. . . was convinced Sang'gre Alena is a lover not a fighter? As apparent to the scene where she beat Ybarro for telling that he never really loved her and just playing with her feelings, Gabbi Garcia threw lame soft punches that wont even pimp a mosquito, and it was obvious she's not hitting Ruru Madrid.

. . . thought Ybarro was overacting and overselling Alena's lame punches? As if those are going to hurt anyone.

. . . thought Asval beating a female Sapiryan played by Julia Lee was domestic violence?

. . . was really pleased by the Amihan fight scene? Amihan played by Kylie Padilla fought some scums (with Danaya) and she realistically kicked their butt. In contrast to Gabbi Garcia-- Kylie can really fight and knows where to angle with the camera for realistic fight scenes.

. . . thinks Valerie Conception vs. Sheree was the lamest not to mention the most uninteresting Lipsync Battle Ph face-off ever? It was so bad I just slept on it. I thought it would've been more intriguing if Sheree went up against Aicelle Santos. What you say Gian Magdangal?

. . . saw Sheree's tweet promoting Lipsync Battle Ph last August 10 where she posted "LIPSINKBATTLE"? Thought she might have been stucked in flood somewhere.

. . . thinks Janice De Belen's daughter immediately getting a starring role on her first project in GMA is unfair and unjust for other GMAAC talents? Nothing against the newbie but there are guys and girls out there who had been stucked in irrelevance waiting for GMA to throw them bones yet someone who's relatively a new comer could just bypass her way to the big break without earning her stripes, just because her parents are celebrities? Well, pitty those who's lacking showbiz blood, you are just very unlucky.

. . . is hats-off to the people behind Julie Anne San Jose's Naririnig Mo Ba? music video? Its definitely miles better than any other music videos produced by GMA Records. Kudos for thinking out of the box this time. Of course thanks to the natural chemistry of Julie Anne San Jose and Benjamin Alves

. . . praises MYX Philippines more for making the premiere of Naririnig Mo Ba music video such a big deal? The way they've promoted the video was really well done-- having detailed interview, good article and captioned photos are great ways to give it a special feels. Unlike GMA who posted a lone low resolution photo on social media, heck their PR personels weren't even online to promote the time the music video aired.

. . . wishes Julie Anne San Jose and Benjamin Alves well in their relationship? I seldom make case point about Julie's lovelife as that's supposed to be a personal matter, but as I can see what's going on social media that there are a few JuliElmo fans (maybe about 10) who are directing petty comments to Julie because of her brewing romance with Benjamin,--I know where this fans are coming from, they are bitter and they probably have the right to be-- JuliElmo was an unfulfilled promise and could've reached some heights, but it's been years since the loveteam split and what's on screen remains that way and nothing more. Both parties have already moved on with their respective careers, Elmo Magalona is now on ABS-CBN and there's currently no chance that the loveteam will reunite. In fact if there is any person fans should direct their frustrations to, it should be Elmo, he chose other girls over Julie not once but twice and was never shy to shove it to their face because that's just the way it should be. He's happy where he is now and has already forgotten everything about JuliElmo including their fans. On the other hand it is Julie who keeps expressing her gratitude and appreciation to JuliElmo fans whether through social media or even on her live shows and concerts. Fans should just be happy for whatever the two had accomplished individually, and better just watch their past performances on Youtube to satisfy their nostalgia. As for Julie and Benjamin, I hope they wont be fazed by nonsensical opinions and stick to one another, and just take this as a test to prove that they are really "worth it" to each other.

Maging Sino Ka Man Failing In The Rating Race

GMA's new Primetime Teleserye Maging Sino Ka Man has not been so impressive in terms of ratings, it's just the third most-watched show on primetime in its debut week and not even the most-watched GMA primetime program, that honor goes to 24Oras while ABS-CBN's Batang Quiapo is now the undisputed number 1 weekday show after Voltes V legacy ended. What is even more alarming is that the ratings trend for MSKM is on a downward trajectory while Batang Quiapo is having a surge. MagingSinoKaMan's rating is just too low for its timeslot, it got bumped by Royal Blood and even by the afternoon show Abot Kamay Na Pangarap out of the top 3 daily programs. While some may say that it's still in the top 5 programs this is still disappointing considering its stars Barbie Forteza and David Licauco were fresh out of the successful Maria Clara at Ibarra and were highly touted for the show's success and were named the breakout loveteam. I Was Right About Louise Delos Reyes

I have always been skeptical about the huge push GMA handed to Louise Delos Reyes. From the start I've been firm and very vocal in my opinion that she's a hardsell as a leading lady, much more as the Network's top star. After a not so successful youth oriented series on TV5, Louise returned to GMA as an impromptu onscreen partner to Elmo Magalona in Pilyang Kerubin, and later as one of the casts of Tween Hearts, but only for very short stint as she was immediately elevated to leadstar status to play the title role in Alakdana and since starred in several primetime dramas, including the drowned Kambal Sirena. Fast forward today, GMA's Next Most Important Leading Lady has found herself suddenly below the level of importance.
