Prove Fans Julie Anne San Jose Made The Right Choice

It is now official .

Julie Anne San Jose remains a Kapuso after signing an exclusive multi-year contract with GMA Network last Monday.

Of course thats very obvious from the very start, afterall, its the network that really discovered her and has been her home for the past ten years. Never it crossed my mind that someone like Julie would ever leave GMA.

However, her fans were also obviously not so thrilled with her decision and are not shy to show their disappointment through sarcasm and even through harsh comments. I guess it never happened before that it is the artist's fans themselves that are pushing their idol to leave the station that first gave her the opportunity.

Although I have no problem with Julie's loyalty and gratitude and I certainly condemn all of the harsh comments being thrown by some fans especially the ones being directed to Julie, but Im also not blaming the fans for their lapse in judgement.

Though very talented,--the narrative that runs through Julie's GMA career is one of missed opportunities and untapped potential. She is the rocket ground control never launched out of the fear it might not fly as well as other rockets. She is the star fans have pined to see get moved to center stage, only to watch her run off to the side of the spotlight

Being a Julie Anne San Jose fan is a fun experience but it has been very frustrating aswell. Just as it seems she's going to be properly showcased, GMA pulls back the reins to slow things down.

How many times we've seen Julie had the momentum going only for GMA to derail it?

That's why its easy for alot of her fans to believe the rumors and rumblings that Julie might not re-sign with GMA and instead go to the Mother Ignacia based network. They were compelled by it and pushed the idea.

That only shows how disheartened the fans are in regards to how GMA has handled Julie's career. Afterall while new comers are being fast tracked to headline a high budgetted primetime show, Julie's years of hardwork doesnt seem getting her any advancement in the network.

GMA is also doing nothing about how Sunday Pinasaya is burying her with very little sceentime, and how it also removed her musical prod segment on the show keeping her from showcasing what she does best.

But its not too late to rectify those errors, GMA has alot of time and chances to do so, and I hope the fans' reactions made the decision makers of the network realized that the way they are managing Julie is flawed and they (the fans) are only making it known to them and that they want something else that better showcases Julie's talents.

GMA needs to prove to the fans that Julie did not made the biggest mistake of her life staying with them, and that she's truly one of the key talents of the network.

It shouldn't just end with a photo op.

Maging Sino Ka Man Failing In The Rating Race

GMA's new Primetime Teleserye Maging Sino Ka Man has not been so impressive in terms of ratings, it's just the third most-watched show on primetime in its debut week and not even the most-watched GMA primetime program, that honor goes to 24Oras while ABS-CBN's Batang Quiapo is now the undisputed number 1 weekday show after Voltes V legacy ended. What is even more alarming is that the ratings trend for MSKM is on a downward trajectory while Batang Quiapo is having a surge. I Was Right About Louise Delos Reyes

I have always been skeptical about the huge push GMA handed to Louise Delos Reyes. From the start I've been firm and very vocal in my opinion that she's a hardsell as a leading lady, much more as the Network's top star. After a not so successful youth oriented series on TV5, Louise returned to GMA as an impromptu onscreen partner to Elmo Magalona in Pilyang Kerubin, and later as one of the casts of Tween Hearts, but only for very short stint as she was immediately elevated to leadstar status to play the title role in Alakdana and since starred in several primetime dramas, including the drowned Kambal Sirena.
