AM I THE ONLY ONE?

Julie Anne San Jose's Chasing The Light was hottest local album last July but GMA Records and GMA Network dimmed the lights preventing it from shining even brighter. The album went straight to the number one spot of the iTunes chart as soon it's released and go on to stay on the top for a week, it also immediately became the best selling album in Astro record stores. But instead of capitalizing on it GMA stunted its momentum as they are fully focused on some other things.

Its seems Jennylyn Mercado and her Pinoy remake of My Love From The Star are already screwed up this early. Alden Richards who was first confirmed to be playing the Matteo Do character is said to be out of the project already. It makes sense as his fans will sure deluge social media with petty comments about the show and bury Jennylyn.

As I reflect to this past week on GMA, I Wonder Am I The Only One Who?. . . . . . disgusted and had a scare when I heard the news about Christina Grimmie? The YouTube star was shot during the meet and greet session of her concert and passed away at the hospital where she was taken. Its a sad news as she was too young at 22 and has a great future as a talented singer/musician. Its scary that no one is really safe nowadays with the way our has society has become. Its also disappointing that such a horrible thing could happened in a place where security is suppose to be strict and tight. . . . thought Magpakailanman episode last Saturday about Barang was more like an episode of the defunct GMA show Spooky Nights? As I reflect to this past week on GMA Network, I Wonder Am I The Only One Who?. . . . . . thinks GMA News And Public Affairs is a little insensitve everytime they report about the NBA Finals and how much it's being anticipated? The NBA Finals is a huge detriment to GMA morning programming, specially to Yan Ang Morning and Princess In The Palace which already struggling in ratings. . . . laughed out really hard to Dasuri Choi's fake Korean song on Pepito Manaloto? Am I the only one who thinks the bashing Julie Anne San Jose gets from Aldub fans is more about them than it is with Julie?

What is wrong with Sunday Pinasaya? It is perhaps the corniest and most boring comedy show today, and I think its antics are getting tired each week.

Julie Anne San Jose's EP FOREVER (Produced by Vim Entertainment) went straight to the top of iTunes album chart in just less than two hours after its release.

VIM Entertainment the producer of Julie Anne San Jose's upcoming U.S. EP is apparently not too happy about how the promotion of the project is doing and recently posted some sentiments on their Twitter account. This reminds me of that situation in 2013 when VIM Entertainment recieved an invitation for Julie to attend the MTV Fashion Week in New York but GMAAC turned it down because Julie needs to do a filler show. At this point, I dont know if there are people behind the scenes who just wanted to hold Julie down or those people behind the scenes are just so inept that they think what they're doing with their talent is actually good. My fear is that when you tell the audience that a talent is "just OK" long enough then it eventually begin to believe it.

Now that we all know StarStruck the Original Reality-Based Artista Search On Philippine TV will be back a few weeks from now, GMA faces the challenges of television ratings and raising the show from irrelevance. But what could be the biggest challenge is to make a star out of who ever wins this time . "Sino Ang Susunod Na Sisikat?"

I have always been skeptical about the huge push GMA handed to Louise Delos Reyes. From the start I've been firm and very vocal in my opinion that she's a hardsell as a leading lady, much more as the Network's top star. After a not so successful youth oriented series on TV5, Louise returned to GMA as an impromptu onscreen partner to Elmo Magalona in Pilyang Kerubin, and later as one of the casts of Tween Hearts, but only for very short stint as she was immediately elevated to leadstar status to play the title role in Alakdana and since starred in several primetime dramas, including the drowned Kambal Sirena. As I reflect to some of the happenings on GMA this week. I wonder, Am I The Only One Who. . . . . . thought it was annoying that GMA keep misspelling Julie Anne San Jose's name? And their inconsistency is the only thing more ridiculous. She's been in GMA for about a decade and yet they're still confuse whether or not to put an "E" on her A N N E .

It has been almost two years since Julie Anne San Jose was seen on a GMA drama. And fans' long wait is over as the Pop Sweetheart returns to acting via Buana Familia. And honestly I was quite disappointed learning Julie is doing a supporting role to Kylie Padilla and Martin Del Rosario.
